The working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Seoul was an important step in strengthening the bilateral partnership. The focus was on issues of citizen mobility and support for young people studying abroad.

On April 7, Deputy Foreign Minister Akhmet Gurbanov held talks with Commissioner of the Immigration Service of the Republic of Korea, Cha Young-ho. The discussion focused on creating the most favorable conditions for mutual travel. The parties agreed to improve the legal framework for migration and ensure reliable protection of the rights and interests of citizens of both countries in each other's territories.

This step will make travel for business, study, and tourism more convenient, reflecting the high level of trust between Ashgabat and Seoul.

That same day, a meeting was held with Turkmen students studying at Korean universities. It was an open dialogue about life, education, and the future.

The students were informed about preparations for the first Central Asian-Korean summit in September 2026 and the upcoming visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea. The young people were also introduced to the motto of 2026: "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses."

The Deputy Minister personally inquired about the students' academic progress and living conditions, emphasizing that the state views them as future specialists who will implement advanced Korean experience in their homeland.
