On April 28, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine and concurrently to the Republic of Moldova, Toyly Atayev, who was in Chisinau on a working visit, held a meeting with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Sergiu Mihov, and representatives of the foreign ministry.

The negotiations were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, which contributed to an open and constructive discussion of a wide range of issues of mutual interest. Special attention was paid to the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Moldova. The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening political dialogue and expanding the legal and contractual framework.

A significant part of the agenda focused on issues of trade and economic cooperation.

A separate block of the talks was devoted to interparliamentary cooperation and the issue of intensifying the work of interparliamentary friendship groups. Issues of interaction on the international stage were also discussed, including coordination of positions and mutual support within international organizations, primarily within the UN system and other authoritative international structures.

The Turkmen side invited representatives of the Republic of Moldova to take part in international events held in Turkmenistan, which was met with interest.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of further developing cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including expanding cultural exchange and cooperation in the scientific and educational sphere, which is seen as an important factor in strengthening mutual understanding and friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries.
