The rise in aviation fuel prices, driven by the war between the US, Israel, and Iran, has forced major airlines worldwide to cut their flight schedules. According to an industry report, more than 75,000 summer flights have been canceled between June and September.

Citing data from analytics firm Cirium released on Tuesday, Business Insider reports that the reductions, mostly announced in the last 10 days, also include the removal of over 9.3 million seats. Four airlines with the deepest cuts are US carriers.

Topping the list is US ultra-budget airline Spirit Airlines, which announced its official cessation of operations, leading to the cancellation of all 33,000 scheduled flights. It is followed by United Airlines with roughly 21,000 cancellations. Delta Air Lines plans to cut about 7,300 flights, and American Airlines about 6,400. European carriers are also under pressure. Germany’s Lufthansa Group has cut more than 5,000 flights.
