President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent deep condolences to Indian President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the numerous casualties, injuries, and widespread destruction caused by the powerful natural disasters in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

On behalf of the people, the Government of Turkmenistan, and himself, the head of state conveyed words of sincere sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to all those affected by the natural disaster.

According to leading Indian media outlets, including The Economic Times, a severe storm with torrential rain, large hail, and hurricane-force winds reaching 130 km/h (80 mph) struck India's most populous state. The powerful cyclone claimed at least 117 lives and injured dozens more. The storm caused extensive damage to the region's infrastructure: more than 300 homes were destroyed or damaged, power lines and mobile phone service were downed, and hundreds of trees were toppled. Emergency rescue operations have been launched in the affected districts, including Prayagraj, the hardest-hit district.
