On June 1, representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) handed the EcoPort certificate to the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.

The certificate was issued within the framework of the OSCE project "Development of Green Ports and transport links in the Caspian region". It provides for the creation of a digital platform to facilitate the exchange of information between the ports of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. This system, in turn, will be connected to large and modern ports in Europe.

The project is supported by the OSCE and some European countries, taking into account the existing potential for the development of transport and energy cooperation with the states of the Caspian region.

The receipt of the EcoPort certificate by the Turkmenbashi International Seaport will give it the status of a green port integrated into the transport system of Europe. This, in turn, will open up new opportunities for the Turkmen sea harbor, as well as increase the efficiency and speed of cargo transportation through the territory of Turkmenistan.
