Turkmenistan Approved Digital Economy Development Concept for 2026–2028
09.10.2025 | 03:45 |Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Mammetkhan Chakyev reported on progress in developing the digital economy, submitting the draft "Digital Economy Development Concept in Turkmenistan for 2026–2028" for approval.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the corresponding resolution, emphasizing that the development of e-government and the implementation of digital systems are of particular importance for the national economy. The main goal of the Concept is to enhance the country's global competitiveness through the large-scale implementation of innovative technologies. The Concept aims to fundamentally modernize all systems:
Infrastructure and Public Administration: Developing digital infrastructure and the e-government system to improve the efficiency of government agencies and all sectors of the economy.
Innovation: Implementing advanced production technologies and modernizing the legal framework in line with international standards.
Social Sector: Developing digital education, science, medicine, and financial technologies.
Cooperation: Strengthening international cooperation, attracting investment, and improving data transmission networks.
Thus, the approval of this three-year plan (2026–2028) confirms that digital transformation is not a narrow sectoral priority, but a national priority for ensuring economic growth.
