Turkmenistan Launches Operation and Construction of New Medical Facilities
10.10.2025 | 23:55 |Turkmenistan's Day of Healthcare Workers and the Medical Industry was marked by an important practical step: the country held commissioning and groundbreaking ceremonies for several major facilities, raising the country's multidisciplinary healthcare infrastructure to a qualitatively new level.
High-Tech for Citizens: Opening of the Health Center in Ashgabat
A modern Health Center, a complex equipped with the latest technology, was officially opened in the capital. It includes a main two-story building, an emergency care center, and departments for family medicine, diagnostics, radiology, physiotherapy, and a women's health clinic.
Particularly noteworthy is the installed equipment from renowned international manufacturers: the KR-800 ophthalmological system from the Japanese company Topcon Healthcare for high-precision vision diagnostics; the Healthineers AG Acuson NX3 from the German company Siemens for a wide range of ultrasound examinations; A MULTIX Impact X-ray fluorography system with an artificial intelligence system, enabling remote examinations via telemedicine.
At the pharmacy located on site, patients can obtain not only medications but also scientifically based recommendations for the use of medicinal herbs described in the multi-volume encyclopedia authored by Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Academician Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
A New 300-bed Infectious Diseases Hospital Opened in the Mary Region
On the same day, a new 300-bed infectious diseases hospital opened in the "Täze güýç" gengeshlik (village council) of the Mary region. This treatment and prevention facility, built as part of the National Program for the Transformation of Social and Living Conditions of the Population, occupies an area of approximately 9 hectares and includes 17 specialized departments.
The hospital is equipped with equipment from leading global manufacturers from the USA, Japan, Germany, the UK, and other countries. It has a digital information system that allows for the prompt entry of patient data, and the collected biospecimens are sent to the laboratory in pneumatic vacuum capsules.
The installed equipment, including thoracoscopic equipment from the German company Aesculap for the accurate diagnosis of chest diseases, enables high-quality early diagnosis of infectious diseases. In addition, the rehabilitation room is equipped with a complex from Sport-TeC Gmbh, which significantly contributes to the recovery of patients after injuries and operations.
Laying the Foundations of New Medical Centers
To mark the professional holiday, foundation-laying ceremonies were held for major medical institutions that will ensure the system's development for decades to come. These include a 500-bed multidisciplinary hospital in Ashgabat, a 300-bed multidisciplinary hospital in Tejen (Akhal Velayat), and a 400-bed Maternal and Child Health Center in Dashoguz.
These centers will be equipped with high-tech equipment, enabling specialized examinations and complex surgeries, taking healthcare to a new level of accessibility and quality.
Furthermore, outstanding construction workers at the new facilities received commemorative gifts, and new ambulances, donated on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, have joined the ambulance fleet at the Mary Infectious Diseases Hospital. This day clearly demonstrated that investing in the health and well-being of the nation remains a top priority of state policy, supported by large-scale projects and the implementation of global technological standards.
