The grand opening of Turkmen Literature and Creativity Week took place in Istanbul, a city of cultural bridges and civilizations. This significant humanitarian event, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkey jointly with the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), was a clear demonstration of the strengthening of spiritual dialogue between the fraternal countries.
The central event of the opening, held in the building of the Turkish Literary Society, was the presentation of the poetry collection "Woman and Word in the Turkic World." This publication celebrates the 85th birthday of Amangozel Shagulyeva, Hero of Turkmenistan, People's Writer of Turkmenistan, and laureate of the International Magtymguly Prize.
Shaguleva's work undoubtedly occupies a special place in the history of modern Turkmen literature. Her poetry, distinguished by its depth of thought, is imbued with a sincere feeling of love for the Motherland, the people and women as the guardians of the nation’s spiritual values.

TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Rayev and Hero of Turkmenistan, People's Artist Saragt Babayev, addressed the gathering—representatives of government circles, renowned scholars, writers, and artists—with welcoming speeches. The speakers emphasized that holding Literature Week in Turkey contributes to the further development of cultural dialogue and the strengthening of humanitarian ties throughout the Turkic world.
At the same time, a photo exhibition linking Turkmenistan's spiritual heritage with the country's contemporary foreign policy opened in the building of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Istanbul.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality and the proclamation of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. Prominent cultural figures, socio-political organizations, and students from Turkey participated in the opening ceremony.
Throughout the Turkmen Literature and Creativity Week, Ankara and Istanbul will host a variety of cultural events, creative meetings, and poetry evenings aimed at promoting Turkmen art and its rich heritage, which is a shining symbol of peace and cultural rapprochement.
