Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has taken on a new role in the field of artificial intelligence: he will become the co-director of the Project Prometheus startup, which he partially funds. The company is developing AI technologies aimed at improving production processes in computing, the automotive sector, and the aerospace industry.
Project Prometheus has already raised $6.2 billion in investments and is considered one of the most well-funded early-stage startups. Bezos will oversee the company together with co-founder Vik Bajaj — a former Google X employee and former head of the medical technology company Verily.
The startup currently employs about 100 specialists, including former staff members of OpenAI, DeepMind, and Meta.
