On November 25, high-level talks were held in Astana between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The heads of state reaffirmed the growing importance of their strategic partnership and expressed their readiness to further expand ties in key areas.
During the official meeting, President Tokayev, welcoming his Turkmen counterpart, emphasized the special nature of their relationship, based on centuries-old friendship, brotherhood, shared history, language, and culture.
The heads of state expressed satisfaction with the volume and quality of cooperation, noting the successful development of trade and economic cooperation, as well as cultural and humanitarian ties. It was emphasized that, despite the successes achieved, the parties need to move forward, as the agenda includes critical issues requiring urgent resolution.
In the context of bilateral relations, the active development of transit routes linking Central Asia with China, the Caucasus, and the Persian Gulf is particularly important. Stable and friendly relations between Ashgabat and Astana play a crucial role in ensuring the security of these corridors.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed sincere gratitude for the hospitality and conveyed warm greetings on behalf of National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. He noted that relations between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan encompass a wide range of interactions in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, according to the Akorda press service.
