During his working visit to Japan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the heads of leading Japanese corporations. The forum resulted in a substantial package of bilateral documents, opening a new chapter in Turkmenistan's industrial development.
Giant companies such as Sumitomo, Itochu, Mitsubishi, Kawasaki, Toyo Engineering, Sony, and other key global market players participated in the discussion of partnership prospects.
Addressing his Japanese partners, President Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan is aiming to achieve new scales. The head of state identified several priority areas for Japanese investment and technology:
Circular Economy: The President proposed specific projects to Japanese companies to build recycling plants for household and construction waste, plastic (PET bottles), and old household appliances.
Green Energy and the Environment: Focus on hydrogen energy and the implementation of deep wastewater treatment systems for reuse.
Artificial Intelligence: Cooperation in digitalization and AI is becoming a new area of collaboration.

Balkan Urea Plant: Memorandum of Understanding on the turnkey construction of a complex with a capacity of 1,155,000 tons per year in the Turkmenbashi district (jointly with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Gap Inşaat).
Gasoline from Natural Gas (GTG): Memorandum of Understanding with Kawasaki Heavy Industries on the extension of technical support for the existing plant in Akhal.
Polymers in Kiyanly: Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the second stage of the plant with a consortium of Toyo Engineering and Rönesans.

Artificial Intelligence: Memorandum of Understanding with Mitsubishi Corporation Machinery on the implementation of AI and digital solutions in Turkmenistan's communications system.

This visit confirmed Japan's status as Turkmenistan's main technology partner, ready not only to supply equipment but also to participate in the creation of a green economy of the future.
