A contract signing ceremony for the 10th Asian Winter Games was held in Milan. According to the document, Almaty has been officially confirmed as the host city of the 2029 Asian Winter Games.
The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Joan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), and the leadership of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan. IOC members and representatives of international sports federations were also present.

The signing of the contract completes the official institutional procedures. As the OCA President noted, the selection of Almaty confirms the Council's commitment to developing winter sports throughout Asia, leveraging the experience of cities with developed infrastructure. He stated that the 2029 Asian Winter Games will be an important platform for strengthening solidarity among athletes across the continent.

The upcoming Games in Almaty will be a milestone event—the tenth in the history of the Asian Winter Games. The 2029 competition is expected to break records in terms of the number of participants, reflecting the growing interest in winter sports in the Asian region.
