Ashgabat, February 6 | ORIENT. Turkmenistan's fuel and energy sector demonstrated significant growth in deep processing of raw materials and an expansion of export potential in January 2026. According to Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov's report at a government meeting on Friday, nearly all key areas of the oil and gas complex significantly exceeded planned targets.

The oil refining sector was particularly notable. While overall oil production by the state-owned concern Turkmennebit was 7.5% ahead of plan, finished product production demonstrated even more impressive growth:

Gasoline: plan exceeded by 26.5%;

Liquefied petroleum gas: 22.1% above plan;

Diesel fuel: 104.6% fulfilled.

This surge in gasoline and liquefied petroleum gas production may indicate the high efficiency of the refineries' technological upgrades and their focus on the most in-demand products on the global market.

Production of natural gas—the foundation of the country's export economy—also remains in the green zone. The natural and associated gas production plan was fulfilled by 108.3%.

Stable performance for polypropylene and lubricating oils (100%) confirms the reliability of petrochemical giants.

Summarizing the January fuel and energy sector results, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that it is now important not just to produce, but to increase production capacity. The head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to continue developing new fields and consistently expand routes for supplying Turkmen energy resources to global markets.
