The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan issued an official statement stating that the country is fully ensuring the safe passage of foreign citizens across the Turkmen-Iranian border, by road and rail. All international checkpoints are operating normally.
Turkmenistan, based on its status of permanent neutrality and the principles of humanism, has become a "window of safety" for those stranded in the Middle East. As of March 4, over 200 people from 16 countries have already entered Turkmenistan through the southern border.
The geography of the evacuation is extensive: among those arriving are citizens of Central Asian countries, China, Russia, the United States, as well as several European countries (Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany), Turkey, and Saudi Arabia. The Ministry emphasizes that Ashgabat remains strictly committed to its international obligations, ensuring the smooth operation of transport arteries and creating all necessary conditions for the transit of foreign citizens in the current context of regional instability.
