
The 14th meeting of the Joint Tajik-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation concluded in Dushanbe. The Turkmen delegation's working visit culminated in a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atakhalliyev and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
During the meeting, the President of Tajikistan noted the positive dynamics of the strategic partnership. Emomali Rahmon emphasized that Ashgabat and Dushanbe have enormous untapped potential in sectors such as industry, transport logistics, and agriculture.
From Policy to Practice: Commission Results. Intensive work by relevant experts was underway alongside the political dialogue. The co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission—Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Sulaymon Ziyozoda and Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Tangryguly Atakhalliyev—gave a constructive assessment of the two-day negotiations.

The main outcome was the signing of the Protocol of the 14th meeting of the Commission. This document is not just a formality, but a roadmap defining development vectors for the coming year. The primary focus is on increasing bilateral trade, developing scientific and technical ties, and expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges, including youth policy, sports, and tourism.
The parties expressed confidence that the implementation of the agreements reached will strengthen economic ties and mark another important step in developing good-neighborly relations between the fraternal peoples.
