Specialists from Belorusneft successfully completed the construction of a unique well at the Armadillo field in the Republic of Ecuador. The achievement was officially recognized as a national record by the international organization Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), according to BELTA.
Record results were achieved during the drilling of the lateral branch of well №010R1. The work was carried out in a single section, with the total length of the structure reaching nearly 5,700 feet. The success of the project was made possible by a combination of advanced technologies and precise geological and technical solutions.
A key factor in setting the record was the implementation of digital solutions. The well construction management center provided 24-hour remote monitoring of the process. This allowed engineers to adjust drilling modes in real time, ensuring high accuracy and safety at every stage.
Aleksandr Lyakhov, General Director of Belorusneft, noted that the Ecuador project represents not only economic benefit but also an important step in technology transfer between Belarus and Latin American countries. Close cooperation with the state company Petroecuador opens new prospects for the development of the region’s energy sector.
Today, Belorusneft unites over 27,000 employees working across three continents. High performance in Ecuador confirms the competitiveness of innovative drilling methods and digital management systems developed by the company’s specialists.
