A meeting between the Consul General of Turkmenistan, Ovezgeldi Jumanazarov, and the Governor of Istanbul, Davud Gül, took place in Istanbul. The parties discussed areas for developing their partnership, which today encompasses a wide range of areas, from economics to medicine and sports. Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that bilateral cooperation is invariably based on the principles of friendship and mutual respect, allowing countries to effectively adapt to new challenges.
A significant portion of the dialogue was devoted to preparations for large-scale celebrations in honor of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. This year, under the motto "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of the Purposeful Winged Horses," opens up additional opportunities to showcase the country's rich cultural heritage in one of the world's major centers.
Strengthening contacts at the Istanbul leadership level provides a significant boost not only to diplomacy but also to humanitarian exchanges. The planned celebrations are expected to become a platform for new scientific, educational, and sporting initiatives that will further strengthen the ties between our peoples. The diplomats agreed that such consistent work and joint celebration of significant dates are the best confirmation of the reliability and longevity of the Turkmen-Turkish partnership.
