On April 1, 2026, the International Transport and Logistics Forum opened in Saint Petersburg, held at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 1 to 3. A delegation from Turkmenistan, headed by the Deputy Minister of Railway Transport of Turkmenistan, Silapberdi Nurberdiyev, is taking part in the event.

The forum has brought together representatives of international organizations, major transport and logistics companies, freight forwarding businesses, as well as port and warehouse infrastructure providers.
Participants are discussing the development of international transport corridors, freight and passenger logistics, tourism, digital services, innovative solutions, and legal regulations in the transport sector. The agenda also covers the activities of the global transport industry and the implementation of advanced technologies.
Turkmenistan has long been a key initiator of a systematic international dialogue on transport connectivity and logistical interconnectedness.

At the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly has adopted several resolutions on transport cooperation. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that Turkmenistan hosted the first UN Global Sustainable Transport Conference in 2016, which effectively laid the foundation for systematic international communication on these issues.
The participation of Turkmenistan's delegation in this forum is a continuation of the country's proactive efforts to strengthen cooperation and consolidate initiatives within the transport sector
