On April 14, North Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) in Stavropol, Russian Federation, hosted a major international festival celebrating Nowruz. The initiative was spearheaded by Turkmen students, creating a unique platform for cultural exchange and a showcase of national traditions.
The festival was attended by students from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, along with representatives from other countries studying at NCFU. This fostered a multicultural environment, allowing every participant to contribute to their shared cultural heritage.
At the heart of the event was a cultural program prepared with the support of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation. Musical compositions presented by Turkmen students reflected the richness and diversity of their folk heritage. By performing folk songs and melodies with high authenticity, the students allowed guests to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Turkmen culture.
Alongside the musical performances, an exhibition showcased cultural artifacts and exquisite items of Turkmen decorative and applied arts. A fashion show featuring national costumes from various ethnic groups and regions of the country, became a vibrant and unforgettable highlight. The grand finale featured a presentation of national cuisine, allowing guests to experience Turkmenistan’s gastronomic traditions and admire the culinary mastery of the students.
The organization of such events not only strengthens intercultural ties among students but also plays a vital role in popularizing national culture. For Turkmen students studying abroad, these festivals provide an opportunity to express their love for their Motherland and contribute to the cultural enrichment of the international community.
