Turkish Airlines has introduced updated baggage rules, which came into effect on April 7, 2026. This was reported by the travel company Dünýä syýahat.
The changes concern both checked baggage and carry-on luggage and are important for passengers planning trips with Turkish Airlines domestic flights.
According to the new requirements, suitcases exceeding 158 cm in total dimensions (length + width + height) are considered oversized baggage. An additional fee of 1,000 Turkish lira applies to such luggage.
Separate rules have been introduced for power banks. Passengers are allowed to carry a maximum of two external batteries. However, their use for charging devices is prohibited during taxiing, takeoff, and landing.
Baggage weight limits: economy class — up to 23 kg, business class — up to 32 kg.
In the cabin, passengers are allowed one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 8 kg and measuring no more than 55×40×23 cm, as well as one personal item up to 40×30×15 cm.
Special baggage rules are also specified. For example, baby strollers are allowed if they weigh up to 8 kg and do not exceed 115 cm in size.
Passengers from Turkmenistan are advised to familiarize themselves with the updated rules in advance to avoid additional costs and possible inconvenience at the airport, the company notes.
