These days, a gradual increase in air temperature is being observed in Turkmenistan, with values in some regions reaching and even exceeding +40°C.
Such weather conditions have formed under the influence of a low-pressure area and the inflow of warm air masses from Southwest Asia, contributing to rapid warming over the region.
On May 4, the warmest weather was observed in the Balkan velayat, where temperatures in some places reached +30…+35°C. In Ashgabat, it was around +30°C on that day.
On May 5, temperatures are rising across the entire country. The highest values are expected in parts of the Balkan, Ahal, and Mary velayats — up to +33…+38°C, and locally up to +40°C. In Ashgabat, today’s forecast is +35…+37°C.
On May 6, warm weather will persist in the Ahal, Mary, and Lebap velayats. In the eastern areas of the Ahal and Mary velayats, daytime temperatures are expected to reach +37…+42°C. In the Balkan velayat and the western part of Ahal, temperatures will be slightly lower. In Ashgabat — +30…+34°C.
On May 7, the temperature will begin to gradually decrease in the Mary velayat, and on May 8, more moderate weather will also set in in the Lebap velayat.
