A gala evening dedicated to the long-standing partnership between Turkmenistan and Malaysian energy giant Petronas was held in Ashgabat. The celebration, which brought together prominent government officials, diplomats, and oil and gas industry executives, was more than just a corporate event, but a true celebration of mutual respect and professional synergy.

The presence of Deputy Prime Minister Guvanch Agajanov and senior officials from the country's oil and gas sector, as well as high-ranking Petronas officials—Group Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Tawfik and Exploration and Production Executive Director Mohd Jukris bin Abdul Wahab—emphasized the special status of the meeting.
The spirited atmosphere of the event was enhanced by performances by folk ensembles and a children's art show, which drew a standing ovation from the audience.

Speaking at the event, representatives of the Turkmennebit State Corporation and Petronas emphasized that over three decades of cooperation, the company has evolved from one of the first investors in the Caspian to a strategic partner, whose contribution to the country's economy is estimated at $11.7 billion.

However, as Turkmennebit representative Maksat Esenov noted, cooperation is now reaching a new level – the implementation of innovations and environmentally friendly solutions.

A key part of the evening was the topic of "humanitarian capital." Petronas represents more than just platforms and terminals, but also hundreds of lives. More than 300 Turkmen students have already completed training at the Petronas University of Technology (UTP), becoming drivers of innovation in the domestic energy sector.

The company's management's visit to Ashgabat, including the group's CEO, Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Tawfik, marked a crucial step. The signing of the Protocol on Commercial Terms for the development of new license blocks 19 and 20 on the Caspian shelf confirms that 30 years is only the beginning.
This step demonstrates the investor's confidence in the future and Turkmenistan's willingness to expand mutually beneficial dialogue.

The delegation will also visit Kiyanly to express its gratitude to the local community and the employees of the production facilities, whose work is the foundation of our shared success.
