On May 18, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended large-scale state events in Ashgabat to mark the combined national holiday—Constitution and National Flag Day of Turkmenistan.

In the morning, the head of state led a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to the Constitution, located in the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains. The event was attended by the Speaker of the Mejlis, members of the Government, heads of the military and law enforcement agencies, heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the country, honorary elders, representatives of public associations, and students. Following the President, all participants in the ceremony laid bouquets of flowers at the monument.

The official part of the celebration then moved to the square near the country's 133-meter Main Flagpole, where Serdar Berdimuhamedov laid a magnificent wreath at the foot of the giant emerald banner.

A vibrant continuation of the festive day was an evening concert featuring artists, organized at the Ashgabat Song and Music Center in the capital. The festive program showcased the genre diversity of contemporary Turkmen art and the continuity of national creative schools.

A special place in the program was occupied by vocal and choreographic compositions dedicated to the 2026 motto "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses" and the legendary Akhal-Teke horses as a living symbol of the people's historical memory.

A powerful patriotic chord to the festive evening was the final monumental song, performed by all the concert participants in honor of the unshakable legal foundations and sovereignty of the independent Fatherland.
