Uzbekistan Hosts International Festival of Crafts and Iroqi Embroidery
From August 13 to 15, the international Iroqi embroidery festival is being held in the Shahrisabz district of Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya Region. The main goal of the event is to preserve centuries-old handicraft traditions, introduce visitors to rare embroidery techniques, and bring together artisans from different countries, reports Yuz.uz.
The festival brings together leading embroiderers from all regions of Uzbekistan and neighboring countries. Visitors can not only admire unique works created by artisans but also learn the finer techniques of traditional national crafts.
Over the three days, visitors and participants can take part in:
• Exhibitions and presentations: displays of unique examples of traditional embroidery and handicraft products;
• Educational master classes: lessons from experienced artisans on creating traditional patterns;
• Exchange of experience: meetings between Uzbek and foreign artisans to develop cultural ties;
• Cultural programme: vibrant concerts and entertainment events.
The Iroqi festival supports artisans, promotes traditional art among young people, and attracts tourists. The event serves as an important platform for strengthening international cultural dialogue and passing on unique cultural heritage to future generations.
