11th Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art: Key Events and Venues

From October 12 to 16, Uzbekistan is hosting the 11th Tashkent International Biennale of Contemporary Art. This year, the major cultural forum centers on the theme "Event Horizon"—an exploration of the human experience in an era of rapid technological advancement and cultural change.
The grand opening ceremony took place at the capital’s Central Exhibition Hall. Works by both international and Uzbek artists are on display at key Tashkent museums and galleries, including the House of Photography, the Kamoliddin Behzod Museum of Miniature Art, the Fine Arts Gallery, and the Ikuo Hirayama International Caravanserai of Culture.
A packed program awaits guests, featuring art performances, workshops, academic conferences, and the "Charkhpalak" exhibition, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence. Additionally, a trip to Samarkand has been organized for participants, allowing tourists and art enthusiasts to combine their exploration of contemporary projects with the country's ancient history.
The Biennale has been held biennially since 2001. The organizers present Tashkent as a symbolic oasis—a crossroads of cultures and a place for discovering new meanings.
