Ashgabat to Host Forum of Trade Unions from Central Asia and Azerbaijan Under the Auspices of the ILO
In November, Ashgabat will host a series of international events focused on labor standards, including an international scientific-practical conference titled "The Role of Trade Unions in Promoting International Labor Standards and Sustainable Development," as well as a regional forum for trade union leaders from Central Asia and Azerbaijan, organized in cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO).
As Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Mammedov announced during a government meeting on Friday, the forums are expected to bring together representatives from the ILO leadership, UN agencies, national trade union centers from countries in the region, and various experts. These meetings in Ashgabat will provide impetus for harmonizing national labor legislation with international standards and will reinforce Turkmenistan’s role as an active participant in the dialogue on promoting the concept of decent work.
