The disappearance of the ice cover in the Arctic, expected by the middle of the century, will not happen, the conditions will be approximately the same as now, because the period 2030-2050 will be a phase of decreasing air temperatures, the press service of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI) RIA Novosti told.
Earlier, scientists from the University of Gothenburg presented a study according to which there is a risk that the ice cover in the Arctic will completely melt in the summer due to changing weather conditions, this could happen before 2030.
