For the first time in the history of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the United Nations (UN), a high-level joint event will take place during the UN General Assembly. This was reported by the National Information Agency of Tajikistan, "Khovar".

The event is scheduled as part of Tajikistan's chairmanship in the CIS in 2025. The primary goal of the event is to strengthen the ties between the CIS and the UN, as well as to promote the positive image of the CIS on the international stage.

During the event, it is planned to discuss key issues on the international agenda, allowing CIS member states to develop joint approaches to addressing global challenges. A UN General Assembly resolution on cooperation between the two organizations is also expected to be adopted. This event will be an important step in the development of multilateral cooperation and integration. As the chair of the CIS, Tajikistan intends to actively promote initiatives aimed at improving interaction between member states and international organizations.
