The Embassy of Turkmenistan in France organized a mass bicycle ride in Paris to celebrate World Bicycle Day. The sports and environmental event brought together diplomats and their family members, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, as well as Turkmen and French students from Parisian universities.

The route of the bicycle ride started at the Champ de Mars at the foot of the Eiffel Tower and continued through the historic streets of the French capital. Participants cycled past some of the city's most famous landmarks, including the Bir-Hakeim Bridge, the Trocadéro Gardens, Place de l’Alma, and the grounds of the Military School. Along the route, riders enjoyed magnificent views of the Grand Palais, Petit Palais, and Les Invalides. The event successfully combined the spirit of sport, environmental awareness, and Paris’s rich cultural heritage.

During the event, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to France, Maksat Charyyev, recalled that World Bicycle Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2018 at the initiative of Turkmenistan. The observance aims to promote cycling as an accessible and environmentally friendly means of transportation. The ambassador emphasized that a large-scale bicycle ride involving the head of state is held annually in Ashgabat on June 3, while Turkmen diplomatic missions abroad support this tradition around the world, bringing people together around the values of friendship and a healthy lifestyle.
