The digital transformation of the country's logistics routes has reached a fundamentally new level. The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan has launched cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology on the "Single Window for Export-Import Operations" web portal (tradebridge.gov.tm). This innovation, which became fully operational on June 1, is designed to dramatically simplify the lives of those involved in foreign economic activity.
Now, a neural network takes over the most complex routine processes of customs administration. The integrated AI can instantly determine product codes in real time according to the Commodity Nomenclature (TN VED), provide accurate preliminary information on the required permits, and even calculate estimated customs duty rates.
This project, which brought the country closer to the global concept of "smart" customs, was implemented in close partnership with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The system is fully adapted for international business and supports simultaneous operation in three languages—Turkmen, Russian, and English.
For entrepreneurs and transport companies, the implementation of AI means significant time savings. Automated cargo classification minimizes human error, speeds up border clearance, improves settlement accuracy, and makes trade transparent. Essentially, Turkmen Customs has created a smart digital assistant for businesses, taking a significant step toward integrating the country into the global trade ecosystem.
