 Turkmenistan at the World Education Forum 2025: Priorities of digital transformation in education

On May 19, 2025, an important panel discussion on digital transformation in education took place in London within the framework of the World Education Forum. The Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Azat Atayev, was one of the key speakers.

The session brought together global education leaders, including the Minister of Education of Ghana, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Director General of the Ministry of Education of Italy, Sabrina Capasso. Mike Trucano from the Education Observatory served as the moderator.

Mr. Atayev emphasized Turkmenistan's commitment to the digitalization of education, presenting national initiatives such as the development of digital content, the introduction of AI in learning, and the creation of a unified national educational platform. He also noted the importance of personalized learning through data and the role of public-private partnerships.

Ethical aspects of AI, the creation of an inclusive digital environment, and international standards were also discussed. Mr. Atayev reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to UNESCO recommendations and OECD principles.

The discussion generated significant interest and contributed to the global dialogue on building sustainable education systems in the digital age.
