On October 13, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.

The Russian Deputy Prime Minister's visit is aimed at maintaining regular intergovernmental dialogue, and the key event was the latest meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation.

At the beginning of the meeting, Marat Khusnullin conveyed greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to President Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the People's Council, expressing deep appreciation for Turkmenistan's achievements and the rich culture of the Turkmen people.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches particular importance to expanding and strengthening its strategic partnership with the Russian Federation. The head of state expressed confidence that the results of the negotiations and the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission will give new impetus to mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation.

As noted, interstate relations, based on the principles of friendship, trust, and equality, are developing successfully in all areas. Trade and economic ties were highlighted in this context: the Russian Federation has remained one of Turkmenistan's leading trading partners for many years.
