 The credentials of the new Slovenian ambassador were received in Ashgabat

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Alenka Suhadolnik presented her credentials in Ashgabat on June 16.

The presentation ceremony took place in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. Chairperson of the National Parliament Dunjagozel Gulmanova, accepting the documents from the Ambassador, congratulated her on the beginning of her diplomatic mission and expressed confidence that her activities would contribute to strengthening interstate ties.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the current state of Turkmen-Slovenian relations, emphasizing the importance of constructive dialogue and international cooperation based on the principles of friendship and mutual respect. The Ambassador was provided with information on the priorities of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign policy, the activities of the parliament and efforts to improve legislation.

Alenka Suhadolnik noted that it was a great honor for her to represent Slovenia in Turkmenistan, a country recognized as a peacekeeping center in the region, actively promoting the strengthening of international trust. She assured of her intention to comprehensively promote the development of bilateral dialogue.

On the same day, the Ambassador met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova. During the talks, the prospects for cooperation in the political-diplomatic, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.

The role of regular contacts, including political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, as an effective tool for expanding partnership was particularly emphasized.

The interlocutors confirmed their mutual readiness to further strengthen ties between Turkmenistan and Slovenia.
