The document emphasizes the significance of neutrality as a political and legal instrument that contributes to regional and international stability, as well as to the development of peaceful and mutually beneficial relations among states. The resolution received broad support from OIC member countries and serves as recognition of Turkmenistan’s peace-oriented foreign policy strategy on the international stage.
The Turkmen delegation took an active part in the meeting, during which pressing political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian issues were discussed, along with ways to enhance intergovernmental cooperation. The representative of Turkmenistan highlighted that one of the priorities of the country's foreign policy remains the strengthening of cooperation within the OIC and the deepening of ties with all its members.
It was also noted during the statement that the year 2025, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust by the United Nations General Assembly, reflecting international recognition of the country’s efforts in promoting global peace and sustainable development.
A key event held on the sidelines of the OIC Foreign Ministers’ meeting was a roundtable titled “Peace and Trust: Foundations of Unity and Resilience in the Islamic World,” organized at the initiative of Turkmenistan. The discussion brought together around 100 representatives from the foreign ministries of OIC member states, international organizations, academia, the diplomatic corps, and the media.
Participants of the roundtable emphasized that Turkmenistan’s policy of permanent neutrality contributes to stability both at the regional and global levels. The implementation of a foreign policy course based on the principles of positive neutrality is regarded as Turkmenistan’s contribution to fostering constructive international dialogue and building mutual trust among nations.
