Oriented on making people closer

On June 29, large-scale celebrations were held in the city of Arkadag to mark its second anniversary. The festive atmosphere was filled with music, songs and joyful emotions. The main gift for residents was the ceremonial presentation of keys to new comfortable apartments and houses.

In two years, Arkadag has become an exemplary standard of a “smart” city, where digital and “green” technologies are integrated into every aspect of life. This well-thought-out concept has already received worldwide recognition: the city has been awarded prestigious international awards, including the main prize of the international exhibition “World Smart City Expo 2024” in South Korea and the “Diamond” category award for quality in Vienna. In addition, Arkadag received certificates for compliance with high standards of environmental friendliness and sustainable development.

The day before, during another visit to the city, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave his blessing for the introduction of the fifth-generation technology for the communication system - 5G. This decision confirms the special legal status of the city as a pioneer of innovation in the country.

The construction of the city is carried out in two stages. Within the first stage, 336 buildings have already been erected, and the second phase is currently underway, within which industrial enterprises will be built, forming a modern industrial cluster, as well as new social infrastructure facilities.

In the afternoon, a festive conference was held, where the participants emphasized that large-scale urban development became possible thanks to investments in the economy and the involvement of the private sector. More than 50 domestic companies are participating in the construction of the second stage, and leading foreign companies are creating a modern medical cluster.

In the evening, a large concert was held on the main square of the city with the participation of Turkmen and foreign artists from Russia (Tatarstan, Bashkortostan), Turkey and Uzbekistan. Young talents and folklore ensembles gave the audience a heartfelt immersion in the wealth of folk art. Particular delight was caused by the performance of songs written by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov himself, which glorify love and the Fatherland.

The city of Arkadag continues its dynamic development, confirming the status of not only a comfortable place to live, but also a center of innovation, science and business partnership, embodying a well-thought-out concept of urbanization of Turkmenistan.
