 Turkmenistan anticipates peak summer heat

Turkmenistan is forecast to experience a week of intense heat with minimal precipitation, as temperatures are expected to rise progressively, according to meteorological reports.

At the beginning of the week, the influence of an anticyclone situated over the European territory of Russia will persist. However, with the intensification of a depression and the formation of its trough over Turkmenistan and neighboring regions, mercury levels will once again exceed +40°C.

On Monday, temperatures across the country will remain relatively consistent, ranging from +36°C to +41°C. Along the Caspian Sea coast, temperatures will be slightly cooler, between +27°C and +32°C. Prevailing winds will be from the northwest and north. Isolated brief showers and thunderstorms are possible in western areas.

By Tuesday, the air temperature is projected to warm to +37°C to +42°C, with Ashgabat expecting +38°C to +40°C.

The heat will intensify on Wednesday: in certain districts of Balkan, Ahal, and Mary Velayats, temperatures will ascend to +38°C to +43°C, potentially reaching +44°C in some locations. Ashgabat is forecast to experience +41°C to +43°C.

The heat is expected to peak on Thursday, with several regions anticipating temperatures up to +41°C to +46°C, and the capital, Ashgabat, reaching +42°C to +44°C.

Towards the end of the week, the heat will slightly recede in the western part of the country, while conversely, it will intensify in the east and south, reaching +41°C to +46°C. A notable temperature decrease of 2°C to 5°C is only anticipated at the very end of the week.

According to observational data, the average temperature in Ashgabat during the first ten days of July was +32.47°C, which is 0.7°C to 0.8°C above the monthly average but remains within climatic norms, as reported by Meteojournal.
