 New Cooperation and Development Agreements Signed at the Avaza Investment Forum

Avaza, September 18 | ORIENT. On the sidelines of the Avaza Investment Forum, a number of important bilateral documents were signed, cementing strategic agreements in various areas. These agreements demonstrated the breadth of Turkmenistan's economic interests and its commitment to deepening international partnerships.

Healthcare and Sustainable Development

The grant agreement for the "Target Fund for the Prevention of Pandemics" was signed by Turkmenistan's Minister of Finance and Economy Mammetguly Astanagulov and Andrey Mikhnev, World Bank Resident Representative for Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

The document is aimed at implementing the regional project "One Healthcare in Central Asia," which aims to protect food systems and support healthy ecosystems.

Industrial Innovations

The Ministry of Industry and Construction of Turkmenistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Primetals Technologies Austria GmbH, a leading international company. The document was signed by Minister Toiguly Nurov and Andreas Lemp, Senior Vice President of the Austrian company.

As the largest metallurgy innovation center within the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group, Primetals Technologies, located in Lenz, Austria, will provide access to advanced technologies for the development of this industry in Turkmenistan.

Trade Relations with London

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the West London Chamber of Commerce (WLCC), one of the fastest-growing chambers in England. The document was signed by Azat Nazarov, Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Chamber, and Christopher Durkin, President of the WLCC. This agreement will help Turkmen companies reach the global market through the WLCC's extensive connections with partners around the world.

Development of Free Economic Zones

The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO), a global non-profit organization representing the interests of over 1,200 zones and parks worldwide. The document was signed by Minister Mammetguly Astanagulov and head of the World FZO branch for the Central Asia region, Erbol Bukharbayev.

The signing of these documents at the Investment Forum in Avaza underscores the multi-vector and pragmatic nature of Turkmenistan's foreign economic policy. The diversity of the agreements concluded—from global healthcare and heavy industry to trade and the development of economic zones—demonstrates that the country is successfully expanding partnerships in key areas for its development.
