Turkmen-Uzbek Relations Mark a New Stage at Festive Event in Tashkent
22.09.2025 | 09:00 |A festive event titled “Turkmen-Uzbek Relations – at a New Historical Stage” was held in Tashkent, dedicated to the 34th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Uzbekistan, the Committee for Interethnic Relations and Affairs of Compatriots Abroad of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Turkmen National Cultural Center.
The celebration was attended by the leadership and representatives of the Committee for Interethnic Relations, national cultural centers, higher educational institutions, Turkmen and Uzbek students, as well as representatives of the media.
During the event, speeches were delivered by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan, Sh. Meredov; the Chairman of the Committee, K. Sariev; a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan; and the Head of the Turkmen National Cultural Center, G. Avezdurdiyeva. In his speech, Ambassador Meredov highlighted the significant achievements of Turkmenistan over the years of independence and emphasized that bilateral relations with Uzbekistan have reached a qualitatively new level in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The event concluded with a concert program. Participants enjoyed folk songs dedicated to friendship and watched national dances, including the Turkmen dance “Kushtdepdi”, performed by representatives of the Turkmen National Cultural Center in Uzbekistan, the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan, other national cultural centers, and Turkmen students.
