 Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Participates in Groundbreaking Ceremony of Mosque in Fizuli

On October 7, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, took part in the groundbreaking ceremony of a mosque in Fizuli.

According to Report, the ceremony was held online as part of the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of States of the Organization of Turkic States.

During the event, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev noted that the initiative to build the mosque came from Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who proposed the project during his visit to Karabakh in July of this year.

"My dear brother, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, during his visit to Karabakh in July, proposed building a mosque in Fizuli by Turkmenistan. We thank brotherly Turkmenistan for this gift," Aliyev said.

The mosque complex will cover more than one hectare. The project includes the construction of two minarets, each 40 meters high, and a main dome with a height of 30 meters. The mosque will accommodate up to 500 worshippers at the same time.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s participation in the ceremony was an important event reflecting fraternal ties, mutual respect, and the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.
