Beijing Hosts Global Women’s Summit: Xi Jinping to Deliver Keynote Speech
13.10.2025 | 08:45 |The Global Women’s Summit opened today in Beijing and will continue until October 14. The opening ceremony will take place in the first half of the day, with Chinese President Xi Jinping delivering a keynote speech at the event.
The summit is expected to host dozens of state leaders, government officials, parliamentary speakers, deputy prime ministers, and ministers, as well as representatives of international organizations and partner institutions from all continents.
The summit coincides with the release of the White Paper titled “China’s Achievements in the Comprehensive Development of Women’s Affairs in the New Era.” The document provides a detailed overview of the country’s achievements in education, healthcare, employment, political participation, and social protection of women. It emphasizes that since 2012, China has consistently integrated principles of gender equality into its national modernization strategies and considers support for women as a key factor in social progress.
The summit is organized with the support of China and UN Women and marks the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women, held in Beijing in 1995. It was at that conference that the famous Beijing Platform for Action was adopted, becoming a key international document promoting women’s rights and achieving gender equality.
