Turkish Tea Exports Exceed $22 Million in Nine Months
16.10.2025 | 10:25 |Türkiye exported tea worth $22.28 million from January to September 2025, marking a 24% increase compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB).
During the nine-month period, 4,057 tons of tea were shipped from the country to 112 countries, including autonomous and free economic zones. In the same period last year, exports totaled 3,628 tons.
The main markets for Turkish tea were Belgium, the United Kingdom, and Northern Cyprus. Shipments to Belgium reached $7.85 million, to the United Kingdom — $3.65 million, and to Northern Cyprus — $1.96 million.
About 48% of export revenue came from the Rize province, from where 2,670 tons of tea were exported to 25 countries, generating $10.72 million.
According to DKİB, Turkish tea, the only tea in the world grown under snow, is strengthening its position in the global market. The main growth is observed in European countries, while Turkey continues to expand into Middle Eastern, U.S., and Asian markets.
The sector expects to finish the year with export revenues exceeding $28 million, maintaining steady growth.
