From October 27 to November 1, representatives of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan participated in the annual 4th Forum of Personal Development Centers and a meeting of international partners. The events, organized in Svetlogorsk (Kaliningrad Region, Russia) in cooperation with the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE), were dedicated to innovation, digital literacy, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the educational process.
Around 220 participants from Central Asian countries (Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan), Belarus and 32 regions of Russia took part in the Forum.
One of the key elements of the program was a visit to Secondary School No. 57 in Kaliningrad, which hosts the children's technology park “Quantorium”.
• Purpose: “Quantorium”, created within the framework of the “Modern School” project, aims to develop students’ scientific, mathematical, and digital literacy, as well as critical thinking skills.
• Experience: The Turkmen delegation learned how the technology park is integrated into the general education environment for conducting classes in natural sciences, mathematics, and supplementary education.
At the plenary session “Human–AI Cooperation in Education”, experts discussed the potential of AI for professional and personal development. Presentations on technologies, cybersecurity, and digital skills were delivered.
Following the working visit, several concrete proposals for further cooperation were announced by IITE and the “Contribution to the Future” Charitable Foundation:
• Professional development: Participation of Turkmen teachers in international certification courses on the EduHub platform.
• Joint projects: Joining the roadmap of the initiative “Empowering Education for Health and Well-Being”.
• Content: Use of educational materials on AI and preparation of online lessons in the Turkmen language.
Participation in the Forum highlighted Turkmenistan’s interest in strengthening international cooperation and introducing advanced Russian and global practices to enhance the educational environment and the personal potential of youth.
