In the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, the implementation of the innovative “QR Guide” project has begun on the initiative of the city’s Executive Authority. This decision was made within the framework of the program “Years of Development of the Digital Economy and Innovation – 2025–2030” and aims to significantly improve the city’s tourism infrastructure, reports NIAT “Khovar.”
The project will provide residents, guests, and foreign tourists with accurate and easily accessible information about 45 key cultural and historical sites of the capital. The initiative directly continues Dushanbe’s digitalization policy and efforts to promote its tourism potential.
As part of the project, special marble plaques with QR codes are being installed at selected sites. Full installation of all plaques is planned to be completed by the end of January 2026.
By scanning the QR code, tourists gain access to the Dushanbe Travel portal, which contains all necessary text and audio information.
At the first stage, information is available in three languages: Tajik, Russian, and English. At the next stage, Chinese and Arabic will be added to the list.
The implementation of the “QR Guide” promotes the development of digital tourism, popularizes the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage, and significantly improves the quality of tourist information services.
