Promoting Turkmenistan's peacekeeping initiatives was the central topic of a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Deputy Foreign Minister Myahri Byashimova discussed a plan of joint events for the coming year with Kurt Edwards, CEO of the American company FIT International.
Literary Diplomacy in the United States
A key event will be the presentation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's book "Türkmenistanyň Bitaraplygy – parahatçylygyň we ynanyşmagyň aýdyň ýoly" ("Turkmenistan's Neutrality – a Bright Path to Peace and Trust"). The presentation will be supported by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United States and experts from FIT International and aims to familiarize American political and academic circles with the philosophy of Turkmen neutrality and its role in ensuring regional security.
Expanding the Humanitarian Vector
In addition to cultural events, the parties outlined a new ambitious track – cooperation in healthcare and child protection. Direct contacts are being discussed between the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care and relevant US organizations. This will allow for the utilization of American experience and technology to implement the Foundation's humanitarian programs.
Preparations for the 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence
The meeting also laid the foundation for preparations for the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, which will be widely celebrated in 2026. Plans include a large-scale program of cultural and educational events, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
For reference: FIT International (USA) has been cooperating with Turkmenistan for many years, organizing Culture Days, business forums, and presentations, helping to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields.
