On December 16, the Third Meeting of the Heads of Parliament of Central Asian states and the Republic of Korea was held in Tashkent. The meeting was titled "Cooperation for Human Dignity, Social Justice, and Environmental Protection."
Over 100 leaders and parliamentarians, representatives of the diplomatic corps, including the Embassy of Turkmenistan, and media participated in the meeting.
During the event, views were exchanged on current issues related to the development of interparliamentary dialogue and the expansion of multilateral cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea.
The event program included a plenary session and two thematic sessions. These sessions addressed issues of economic cooperation, digital transformation, and industrial development, as well as the role of parliaments in environmental protection and the implementation of environmental initiatives. A roundtable discussion was also held with representatives of think tanks and academic circles from the parliaments of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea, focusing on scientific and analytical support for parliamentary activities.
The participants also noted that previous meetings held in Seoul in September 2023 and Ashgabat in October 2024 clearly demonstrated the relevance and demand for this format of interparliamentary interaction.

Following the meeting, a Joint Declaration of the Third Meeting of the Heads of Parliament of Central Asian States and the Republic of Korea was adopted, covering the main areas of interparliamentary cooperation. In particular, a decision was made to intensify interaction in the areas of digital technology development, environmental protection, social protection, the promotion of gender equality and human rights, education, science, and cultural and humanitarian exchange.
During the discussion, the relevance of issues related to further deepening cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and the Republic of Korea, ensuring sustainable development in the region, implementing digital technologies and artificial intelligence, rational use of water resources, and combating the effects of climate change were emphasized.
