On 17 February, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan between the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Jumamurat Gurbangeldiyev, and the UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the main areas of bilateral cooperation for 2026–2030, including early childhood development, the advancement of inclusive education, as well as planned activities related to climate resilience in the education system and disaster risk reduction.
The meeting also special attention was given to the preparation of the National Strategy on Early Childhood Development, the implementation of a pilot school-readiness programme in 55 schools across the country, the successful implementation of the joint “Green School” programme, and the expansion of pilot activities in inclusive education. It was confirmed that the relevant departments of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and UNICEF are ready to work in close coordination at all stages of implementing joint initiatives.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual readiness to further strengthen cooperation in Turkmenistan aimed at ensuring the rights and best interests of every child.
