Ashgabat, February 27 | ORIENT. In the lead-up to International Women's Day on March 8, the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag will host celebratory events honoring women who have dedicated themselves to raising the younger generation. At a Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on Friday, preparations for ceremonies awarding the honorary title "Ene mähri" to mothers who have given birth to and raised eight or more children were announced.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the corresponding decree, emphasizing that respect for maternal work is the foundation of Turkmen society. In keeping with established tradition, large families will be ceremoniously presented with the keys to new, modern apartments.
"Our dear mothers play a crucial role in preserving the sacred family hearth and raising their sons and daughters with dignity," the head of state noted, ordering that the celebratory events be held at the highest level.
Support for large families and creating conditions for women's well-being remain priorities in the country's social policy, emphasizing Turkmenistan's status as a nation where family values are elevated to the rank of national treasure.
