
From February 16 to 26, professional development courses in Persian language and literature were held at Magtymguly Turkmen State University with the support of the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan. The courses were designed for lecturers and students of higher education institutions across the country and were led by Iranian professors — Persian language and literature instructors from the Saadi Foundation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ahmadighader Shahnaz and Sheikhi Tahmine. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by lecturers and students from Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dowletmammet Azady, the International Relations Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, and the Turkmen State Institute of Energy.
In accordance with the Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052, the country plans to significantly improve the educational process, consistently raise the professional level of lecturers and young specialists, strengthen the material and technical base of universities, and integrate them into international rankings of leading universities worldwide.
The state aims to expand cooperation, modernize the material and technical infrastructure, and update teaching methods to bring science and education to the international level. All necessary conditions are being created in the country to ensure the effective work of scholars and academic staff.
The professional development courses in Persian language and literature held at Magtymguly Turkmen State University for lecturers and students of higher education institutions became a clear demonstration of these efforts. Upon completion of the courses, participants were awarded certificates.
