As part of events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, a chess tournament among employees of the banking sector was held in the country. The competition, titled “Bank-2026,” was organized by the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan jointly with the Joint-Stock Commercial Bank “Rysgal” with the aim of determining the cup winner among representatives of the banking sphere.

The tournament took place at the Specialized Chess and Checkers School of the Main Department for Physical Culture and Sports of the city of Ashgabat, in accordance with international chess rules.

According to the results of the competition, the prize places were distributed as follows:

Among women:

JSCB “Rysgal” — Guljahan Atbashieva — 1st place

State Commercial Bank of Turkmenistan — Mahri Akmammedova — 2nd place

Turkmen-Turkish Commercial Bank — Jeren Muhammedova — 3rd place

Among men:

State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan — Ashyrguly Geldiev — 1st place

JSCB “Rysgal” — Tachmyrat Berdiev — 2nd place

Turkmen-Turkish Commercial Bank — Perman Ovezov — 3rd place

The tournament became part of the festive events and contributed to the promotion of chess among banking employees, as well as strengthening professional and corporate interaction.
