President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on Monday with Deputy Prime Minister Tangryguly Atakhalliyev and regional leaders. The meeting focused on the spring sowing campaign, the development of sericulture, and public events to mark World Health Day, celebrated on April 7.
The head of state heard reports on the progress of seasonal work in five velayats of the country. The key focus of the current phase is:
Grain crops – fields sown with wheat are in the active phase of vegetation irrigation and mineral fertilization;
Cotton: The sowing campaign continues in all regions strictly on schedule. All modern agricultural machinery is in use to complete the sowing campaign within the optimal agronomic timeframe.
Food basket: Spring potato, vegetable, and melon crops are being tended to supply the domestic market.
Sericulture: The cocoon production season has begun. Contracts with tenants and distribution of silkworm eggs are being finalized in the regions.
The President summarized that the effectiveness of agriculture directly depends on strict adherence to scientifically proven agricultural practices. Regional leaders have been given specific instructions to ensure food abundance and sustainable development in the sector, according to a news broadcast on the national State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
The President ordered strict oversight of the quality and completion dates of facilities scheduled for opening in 2026 under the National Rural Program.
Particular attention has been paid to preparations for World Health Day. The head of state ordered the organization of high-level mass sporting and cultural events in all regions of the country.
